Generations of Aussies have enjoyed Bertie’s sweet, crunchy nostalgia, and to celebrate his 60th birthday, the Bertie Beetle Bag has decided to invite some family members along to the Perth Royal Show.
In 2024 Bertie Beetle lovers can purchase from a choice of seven (7) Bertie bags, featuring exciting collectable merchandise. Prices range from $5 to $25.

Bertie Beetle was born in 1963 when sweets manufacturer Hoadley’s wanted to rival Cadbury’s Freddo Frog. Since its debut in 1963, Bertie Beetle has captured the hearts of Australians, becoming a timeless icon of joy, fun, and nostalgia. In the 1970s, Australia’s favourite beetle became an exclusive feature agricultural shows and exhibitions across Australia.
When he turned 60 last year, demand skyrocketed and stocks ran out nationally prior to the Perth Royal Show, leaving our state high and dry. Perth Royal Show patrons expressed their horror at the absence of Bertie Beetle, as a much-loved favourite of the Show for all ages.
