A much-loved annual event celebrating agriculture, community and entertainment in the heart of Western Australia
The Perth Royal Show has been bringing country and city together since 1834, growing from WA’s early agricultural shows into one of the State’s most iconic annual events. For generations, it has celebrated agriculture, community, competition and entertainment, evolving with WA while holding onto the traditions that make the Show special.
The first secretary was William Locke Brockman (pictured), and initial Board members included Messrs Barrett Lennard, Broun, Bull, Hardy, Moore, Phillips and Tanner. Governor Stirling was the Patron.
The first official annual ‘Fair and Cattle Show’ was held in November 1834 in East Guildford.
