Know an inspiring woman in agriculture? Help us share her story with thousands of Perth Royal Show visitors.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Behind every farm is a person whose dedication helps feed, clothe and support our communities.
Farmer of the Day shines a spotlight on the Western Australians whose passion, resilience and innovation keep our agricultural industry thriving. Each day of the Perth Royal Show, one outstanding farmer is recognised and invited to share her story with Show visitors.
In 2026, Farmer of the Day will recognise the women making an extraordinary contribution to agriculture across Western Australia as part of the United Nations International Year of the Woman Farmer.
The program gives Show visitors the opportunity to meet local farmers, hear their stories and learn more about the people behind Western Australia’s food and fibre.

International Year of the Woman Farmer
The United Nations has declared 2026 the International Year of the Woman Farmer, recognising the vital role women play in agriculture, food security and rural communities around the world.
To mark this global recognition, the Perth Royal Show will feature a different Western Australian woman farmer each day of the Show, sharing her story and inspiring visitors through her experience, knowledge and passion for agriculture.
Every farm has a story, and every story helps connect people with agriculture.
We're looking for women who represent the diversity of farming in Western Australia. They may be lifelong farmers, emerging leaders, innovators, mentors, community champions or part of a multigenerational farming family. What matters most is that they have a genuine story to share and a passion for agriculture.
This is not an award recognising the "best" farmer. It's an opportunity to celebrate the people behind our agricultural industry and inspire hundreds of thousands of Show visitors through their experiences.
Nominees must:
You can nominate a friend, family member, colleague, employee or someone from your local community. More than one woman may be nominated.
Help us recognise those shaping Western Australian agriculture by submitting a nomination for the 2026 Farmer of the Day program.
Entries close 12 August 2026.
