SHOWCASING SOME OF WA'S BEST POULTRY

The Poultry Competition brings together a wide range of birds, each judged against recognised breed standards and presented at their best.

From large fowl to bantams and other classes, entries are assessed on structure, feather quality, colour and overall condition. Judges look closely at the details, from comb type and markings to health and vitality , with each element contributing to the final result.

Strong entries reflect both careful breeding and consistent day-to-day care. Preparation plays a key role, with exhibitors ensuring their birds are in peak condition for judging.

With a variety of classes available, the competition welcomes experienced exhibitors while still offering a pathway for those starting out.

Update for 2026

The Royal Agricultural Society of WA has made the precautionary decision not to proceed with the poultry competition at the 2026 Perth Royal Show due to the evolving H5 avian influenza situation around Australia.
