The Royal Agricultural Society of WA has further diversified its Council with the appointment of Mark Connelly and Jamie Ogilvie, strengthening the breadth of skills and experience across governance, commercial strategy, finance and regulatory oversight to ensure the Society remains well positioned for the future.
Mark Connelly is an internationally experienced financial and commercial executive with a distinguished career in the resources sector, having held Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director roles across multinational organisations operating in Australia, North and South America, Africa and Europe. Mark is widely recognised for leading complex mergers and acquisitions, including several landmark transactions valued at more than USD$1 billion, and currently serves as Non-Executive Chair across multiple ASX-listed exploration and development companies
Jamie Ogilvie brings more than four decades of experience across corporate law, financial markets, executive leadership and public-sector regulation. A former Western Australian Regional Commissioner for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), Jamie has advised boards and executives on corporate governance, compliance, mergers and acquisitions and risk management throughout his career.
Royal Agricultural Society of WA President John Snowball said the appointments align with the Society’s continued focus on strong stewardship and sustainability.
“Mark and Jamie add significant strength to Council through their combined experience in governance, commercial leadership and regulatory oversight. Their expertise will support disciplined decision-making and robust oversight as the Society continues to evolve and fulfil its role on behalf of Western Australian agriculture.”

Mark said he was pleased to contribute his experience to the Society.
“The Royal Agricultural Society of WA plays a vital role in championing Western Australian agriculture and connecting industry with the wider community. I look forward to supporting the Society, particularly as it begins to develop its next five-year strategic plan.”
Jamie said he welcomed the opportunity to join Council.

In 2031 the Royal Agricultural Society of WA will celebrate its 200th anniversary.
