For more than 50 years, Wagin Woolorama has brought together farming families, local businesses, schools, volunteers and visitors to celebrate agriculture and regional life.

This year, the event was one of many agricultural shows across Western Australia to receive $10,000 funding through the Western Australian Government's 2026 WA Agricultural Show Grant Program, facilitated by the Royal Agricultural Society of WA.

The grant supported continued development and delivery of Woolorama, helping improve facilities, accessibility and event presentation, while supporting new initiatives that reinforced its reputation as an inclusive, family-friendly celebration of agriculture and regional Western Australia.

The benefits have been felt across the entire event. Facility upgrades and presentation improvements have enhanced the overall atmosphere, while agricultural competitions, educational displays and youth-focused activities continue to create opportunities for people of all ages to engage with agriculture.

Wagin Woolorama Trade Fair Coordinator Kasey Pearce said the funding had helped strengthen an event that plays an important role in the local community.

"Woolorama is much more than an agricultural show. It is a celebration of our region, our farming families, volunteers, local businesses, schools and visitors who come together to share their passion for agriculture. The support has helped us create opportunities for people of all ages to connect, learn and celebrate the agricultural industry that is such an important part of regional Western Australia."

The event has continued to attract strong community participation and positive feedback from patrons, exhibitors, competitors, sponsors and volunteers. The improvements have helped create a safer and more welcoming environment while supporting the long-term sustainability of the event.

The success of Wagin Woolorama highlights the important role grant funding can play in helping agricultural shows invest in their future. From facility upgrades and accessibility improvements to new activities and community initiatives, these projects create lasting benefits for regional communities while ensuring agricultural shows remain vibrant and relevant for future generations.
