Resources for Educators

Connecting young people and communities with the modern world of food, farming and agricultural innovation.

WHY EDUCATORS SHOULD WORK WITH US

Our Education and Community team delivers a suite of curriculum-aligned education programs that place WA products, industries and innovation at the center of learning.

Through agriculture, students explore how WA grows, produces and exports food and fibre—connecting local industries to real-world applications across science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), as well as humanities, sustainability and health.

When teachers engage with our programs, they are:

  • addressing multiple curriculum outcomes at once. Agriculture provides a powerful, real-world context for STEM learning, bringing concepts such as biology, chemistry, data, design thinking, digital technologies and problem-solving into the classroom in meaningful ways; and
  • building student understanding of geography, economics, environmental science, careers and community, all through the lens of WA agriculture.

By using agriculture as the context, our programs make learning practical and engaging, helping educators cover multiple curriculum areas while connecting students to the industries, technologies and career pathways shaping WA’s future.

OUR EDUCATION PROGRAMS

The Royal Agricultural Society of WA delivers dynamic, curriculum-aligned education experiences that bring Western Australian agriculture to life for students.

  • The Perth Royal Show is the peak of our education program, engaging thousands of students each year through structured school visits. Students connect directly with animals, producers, ag-tech and food systems, supported by learning resources that link classroom learning to real-world agriculture.
  • Junior Farmer Days and other on-site learning experiences at Royal Agricultural Society of WA precincts immerse students in interactive workshops, demonstrations and challenges. These high-energy programs build agricultural understanding through fun, practical learning.
