Pigs in School
Students raise, prepare and present pigs, developing livestock knowledge, responsibility and presentation skills.
LEARNING BY DOING
The Pigs in Schools Competition gives students a real-world introduction to livestock, agriculture and responsibility.
Working as a team, students are involved in raising and preparing pigs for competition, learning everything from animal care and handling to presentation and industry standards. It’s practical, hands-on and designed to build confidence, teamwork and knowledge of modern agriculture.
By the time Show day arrives, students step into the ring to present their animals, showcasing the work they’ve put in behind the scenes.
It’s a valuable experience that connects classroom learning with real agricultural practice — and gives students a genuine sense of achievement.
