Western Australia's leading wine competition, with a proud history dating back to 1843. Judged blind by a panel of respected local, interstate and international experts.

WA's Leading Wine Competition

The Perth Royal Food Awards - Wine competition is Western Australia’s leading wine competition, with a proud history dating back to 1843, when wine was first judged as part of the Perth Royal Show.

Today, the competition continues this long tradition of recognising excellence in winemaking and celebrating the quality, craftsmanship and integrity of wines produced across Australia and internationally.

Wine Producers in Australia and internationally are invited to submit their wines to be assessed by respected judging panels comprising local, interstate and international experts. All wines are evaluated through a blind judging process to ensure each entry is assessed fairly and independently.

Entries span a wide range of wine styles and classes, including sparkling wines, white wines, rosé, red wines, fortified wines and other specialty styles. Each class is judged against standards specific to that wine style, providing producers with an opportunity to benchmark their wines against industry expectations.

A medal awarded through the Perth Royal Food Awards represents a respected mark of quality within the wine industry. Winning wines gain valuable recognition from buyers, retailers and wine consumers, helping producers build credibility and showcase the strength of Australian wine.
